Covid-19: Cinemas to reopen, meetings to be allowed from July 1

PUTRAJAYA — June 22 2020: Cinemas will reopen and live events allowed to be held from from July 1 but the maximum number of people allowed is 250 and subject to the one metre distancing condition.

Also to be allowed from that date are conferences, seminars and training courses.

This applies to all organisations registered with the Registrar of Societies, Malaysia Sports Commissioner, Registrar of Youth, Companies Commission of Malaysia, Cooperative Commission of Malaysia, Farmers’ Organisation Authority and parent-teacher associations.

Recreational activities at swimming pools, rivers, lakes and in the ocean will also be allowed.

In announcing this today, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said public, private, hotel, condominium and gated community swimming pools will be allowed to open but subject to conditions.

There must be a lifeguard or supervisor at all times to ensure that conditions are adhered to.
