PUTRAJAYA — July 27, 2020: The number of new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours improved back to single digit after being in the double digits for seven of the previous eight days.
The total for the country since the first cases were confirmed in late January is now 8,904, of which 179 are active.
Four of the recent cases were imported cases while the other three that were locally transmitted all involved Malaysians and detected during pre-surgery screenings in Sabah.
Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the Bukit Tiram cluster first reported two days ago will be the ministry’s new target.
The cluster involves a Catholic church that had organised activities and reported imported cases from the Philippines.
