Covid-19: Many of the latest cases were foreigners

A total of 3,347 cases have been linked to this Sri Petaling mosque cluster, or 48% of the country's total so far.

PUTRAJAYA — May 19, 2020: Foreigners made up 22 of the 37 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours, with two of the cases imported. There was also one death to bring the total fatalities to 114 from 6,978 cases.

Eleven cases are in intensive care, with six needing ventilators.

The latest death was that of a 77-year-old Malaysian woman who had a history of diabetes, high blood pressure and liver cancer.

Another 31 patients were discharged, which brings the total recoveries to 5,646 or 80.9% of positive cases have recovered from Covid-19 in Malaysia since the outbreak began.

Health director-general Datuk Dr. Hisham Abdullah said another 972 cases previously under investigation have been traced to the Sri Petaling tabligh cluster. As a result, the number of cases linked to the cluster is now 3,347 or 48% of all cases in the country so far.
