MELAKA — June 1, 2018: The service contracts of 16 heads of Melaka government agencies have not been renewed by the state’s new Pakatan Harapan government.
Those affected were general manager of the Chief Minister’s Incorporated Datuk Ab Rahman Ismail, general manager of the Bumiputera Economic Empowerment Unit Datuk Hasnoor Sidang Husin, general manager of the Melaka Education Trust Fund Mustafa Musa, Datuk Bandar of the Melaka Historical City Council Datuk Zainal Husin, Jasin Municipal Council president Shadan Othman, Melaka Foundation general manager Datuk Zaini Mohd. Nor and Chief Executive Officer of the Melaka Rivers and Beaches Corporation Nazary Ahmad.
Others were Melaka Biotechnology Corporation Chief Executive Officer Badrul Hisham Badruddin, Putra Specialist Hospital (Melaka) Sdn. Bhd. Chief Executive Officer Mohd. Salleh Jusman, Pembangunan Pertanian Melaka Chief Executive Officer Datuk Isnin Aman and Melaka Taming Sari general manager Ali Kasmin, Zakat Melaka Chief Executive Officer Datuk Ibrahim Fadzil, Melaka ICT Holdings Chief Executive Officer Zainal Abidin Ismail, Sekretariat Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam general manager Datuk Abu Bakar Abdul, Melaka Hari Ini Chief Executive Officer Ishak Dalib and MAIM Bentara Security manager Mohd Sham Dali.
At a press conference yesterday, Chief Minister Adly Zahari said the government had also abolished six departments and units to avoid duplication of functions, besides reviewing the status and requirements of two agencies.
Adly has further directed the Alor Gajah district officer to study and review the railway land ownership application in three areas in the district to give an opportunity to people who were qualified to get ownership.
This is to ensure that there are no malpractices and cronyism. The land ownership process being carried out in Belimbing Dalam, Beringin and Durian Tunggal (in the district) is being postponed. — Bernama
