Marie Colvin was killed along with a French colleague when their safehouse was shelled in Homs.

This one-eyed woman was truly brave.

Marie Colvin, 55, lost an eye to a shrapnel bomb in Sri Lanka in 2001.

Today, she and a colleague, a Frenchman named Remi Ochlik, 28, were killed by a bomb in Homs, the hometown of Steve Jobs’ family in Syria.

This was shortly after Anthony Shadid of the New York Times had also died in Syria.

“Our mission is to report these horrors of war with accuracy and without prejudice.” – Colvin

Marie Colvin and Remi Ochlik won lots of awards.

Remi was quite daring. His website has lots of photos.

I weep for my fellow travellers whom I’ve never met. Their courage brought them to battlefields where bullets do not recognise race, religion, rank or position.
