Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim defended the rights of the organisers and supporters of the 2011 Seksualiti Merdeka festival which has been described as a forum for discussion and meetings between lesbian, gay, bisexual and transexual (LGBT) groups.
According to him, at the same time he criticised those who insulted the festival's organisers and supporters.
He added, however, that Parti Keadilan Rakat (PKR) is firm in not supporting the festvial because the teachings of Islam are clear on this issue.
