KUALA LUMPUR: Ummi Hafilda Ali, the sister of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president Mohamed Azmin said she is prepared to be pitted against her brother in any constituency in the general elections.
Speaking to The Mole, Ummi said: “Of course I will only contest if (Barisan Nasional chairman) Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak gives me the opportunity. I will not turn down an offer to contest against my brother in his Gombak constituency. “
She was responding to a blog post in The Unspinners claiming an agreement the BN leadership has agreed to field Ummi as a candidates in the next elections.
Ummi however dismissed the post as a mere speculation within the blogosphere.
However she did feel that the BN and Umno were not doing enough to defend themselves in the cyber world.
“Barisan needs to regain what it lost in the 2008 general elections. The results of the last elections was very frustrating to me.’’
Ummi who was a key witness in Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s 1998 sodomy trial claimed she had proof of her sister in-law Shamsidar Taharin’s alleged sexual relationship with the PKR leader.
She had also started a nationwide road show to expose wrongdoings of both Anwar and Azmin.
