KUALA LUMPUR — April 8, 2019: MyHSR Corporation Sdn. Bhd. plans to appoint a technical advisory consultant (TA) to review the technical aspects of the KL-Singapore High Speed Rail project cost reduction options.
The TAC will review and validate the proposed infrastructure assets within Malaysia, such as alignment, stations and maintenance facilities, the company said in a statement today.
Chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Nur Ismal Mohamed Kamal described the appointment of the TAC as an important step before the end of the suspension period in May 2020.
“We encourage all firms with the relevant experience to participate in this tender as the findings of this review will help us chart the right course for this project,” he said.
The review is also expected to include on-the-ground data collection activities such as topography survey data, soil investigation and ground condition assessments.
Malaysia and Singapore have agreed to suspend the construction of the railway to enable both countries to find the best way forward. — Bernama
