Company accuses Selangor government of abuse of power

SHAH ALAM – March 8, 2018: The company which owns a convention centre that had hosted several Pakatan Harapan events has lodged a police report over an alleged abuse of power by the Selangor government.

In the report, Ideal Convention Centre Sdn. Bhd. (IDCC) director Lee Aik Chong claimed that Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali had ordered all state agencies and local governments to boycott the company.

Lee decided to reveal this to the press earlier this evening ahead of the launch of Pakatan’s third manifesto for the 14th general elections. He contended that the boycott call was in relation to the legal tussle between IDCC’s owner Kasmuncak Holding Berhad with the Shah Alam City Council two years ago.

“I found that the Selangor executive councillors issued a memo on June 1, 2016, ordering all state owned-companies, agencies and local governments to stop doing business with us,” said Lee.

Included in his report was a printed screen grab of what Lee claimed to be the memo which explicitly states that boycott was in relation to the lawsuit.

The report was lodged late last month.
