KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 2016 : The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) has thwarted several attempts to hack into the country’s defence system.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the Cyber Defence Unit of the ATM had taken proactive measures to fend off the attacks.

“Since last year, we (ATM) have been in close cooperation with certain countries to protect secret data of our military assets against hacking by certain parties,” he told reporters when met after the Gombak Umno division
delegates meeting, here today.

The Australian newspaper reported on Wednesday that secret data on the Scorpene submarine designed for India’s Navy was contained in 22,400 leaked pages.
