KUALA LUMPUR — May 7, 2020: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been appointed Parliamentary opposition leader, with a letter to that effect received by Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Ariff Md. Yusof.
During a question and answer live session at Facebook, Anwar said that Pakatan Harapan secretar-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution had sent the letter.
The decision was made by the Pakatan presidential council.
Before the collapse of the Pakatan government in February, the opposition leader was Umno’s Bera MP Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who is now the senior minister for security cluster.
