AirAsia begins Belitung services from Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 2019 : AirAsia Bhd yesterday began a four times weekly services from Kuala Lumpur to the island of Belitung, Indonesia, following the start of its daily Jakarta-Belitung services on Oct 1.

These routes from Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta continue the low-cost airline’s trajectory support of the Ministry of Tourism Indonesia’s initiative to develop “10 New Bali’s”, AirAsia Indonesia deputy chief executive officer Veranita Yosephine said in a statement.

“This year alone, AirAsia Indonesia has launched new routes from Jakarta to Sorong, from Bali to Lombok and to Labuan Bajo, gateway to the Komodo islands.

“To facilitate this expansion, the company has grown its fleet to include three new Airbus A320 aircraft which are based in Jakarta and Lombok,” she said.

By year end, AirAsia would also take delivery of an additional two new aircraft, she noted.

To celebrate the new route, AirAsia is offering a special all-in members fare from as low as RM89 from Kuala Lumpur to Belitung from now until Oct 6 for travel from today until Feb 9, 2020. All-in non-member fares start from RM94 for one-way travel, inclusive of taxes.
