SHAH ALAM — April 17, 2019: The pattern which formed on a mannequin after being hit by the door of a van in an experiment van turned out to be similar to injuries and bruises found on firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd. Kassim.
Former senior forensic and pathology expert at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, Professor Shahrom Abd. Wahid, also rejected the assumption that the road shoulder had resulted in the fractures found on Adib’s right ribs.
This was because based on the reconstruction by the police and his visit to the scene, there were no protruding objects along the road.
“I examined the entire stretch of the road shoulder to see if I could find any protruding objects which could cause such injuries but I found none,” he said.
Adib, of the Subang Jaya fire and rescue Station, was seriously injured during rioting outside the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple last November 27 and died of his injuries on December 17 while being treated at the National Heart Institute.
The inquest before coroner Rofiah Mohamad continues on Friday. — Bernama
