SHAH ALAM — June 26, 2019: Four counsels from the Attorney-General’s Chambers have been appointed to represent the Housing and Local Government Ministry and the Fire and Rescue Department in the inquest into the death of fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd. Kassim.

They are senior federal counsels Suzana Atan, Mazlifah Ayob and Fadzilatul Isma Ahmad Refngah and federal counsel Afiq Zainal Abidin.

Lawyer Syazlin Mansor who a few weeks ago was asked to withdraw from representing the government confirmed that she will continue to represent Adib’s family.

In today’s proceedings, coroner Rofiah Mohamad set July 3, 4 and 5 to recall witness Professor Dr. Shahrom Abd. Wahid, a forensic pathology consultant based in the United Kingdom.

Conducting officer Deputy Public Prosecutor Faten Hadni Khairuddin also informed the inquest that a stakeholder had proposed the name of the physics expert who would clarify the formula that could have been been used to estimate the force of impact which hit Adib.

Adib who was with the Subang Jaya fire station sustained serious injuries during rioting outside the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple last November 27 and died on December 17. — Bernama
