PUTRAJAYA — May 2, 2019: Former Special Branch chief Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador has been appointed as the Inspector-General of Police for a two-year term beginning this Saturday.
The appointment was consented by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on the advice of Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and recommendation of the Police Commission.
The appointment is on contract for two years. Hamid takes over from Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun who goes on mandatory retirement tomorrow.
Hamid was born on August 7, 1958, in Kuala Lumpur.
